Discipline vs. Regret

Jim RohnI was reading a book this morning called “Conversations with Millionaires” by Mike Litman and Jason Oman.  I came across this quote from Jim Rohn.

I haven’t studied much of  Jim’s material but have read pieces here and there.

The topic is on discipline or regret.  This is a great quote.

“We suffer from one of two things.  Either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.

You’ve got to chose discipline, versus regret, because discipline weighs ounces and regret weighs tons.”

The premise of this is that the art of discipline in the little steps are really very easy when compared to the consequences of not being disciplined.

The analogy he uses is going to the dentist and finding out you have a cavity.  The dentist says it will cost $300 now or it will cost you $3000 later in addition to be much more painful.

Which would you chose?

The Laws of Success – Lesson 2

Quote Worth Repeating

Pic-of-Napolean-HillI was studying this today and thought I’d share with you some very valuable information regarding your thoughts…

In Lesson 2, “A Definite Chief Aim”, Napoleon writes:

“…a person’s acts are always in harmony with the dominating thoughts of his or her mind.

Any definite chief aim that is deliberately fixed in the mind and held there with determination to realize it finally saturates the entire subconscious mind until it automatically influences the physical action of the body toward attainment of that purpose.”

You are your actions and your actions are always in harmony with what you think.  The mind controls the body and how it acts.

This was, as usual, just what I needed to hear this morning.
