Maintaining A Successful Mindset

Critical To Acheiving Your Goals

One of the aspects of successful thinking that has come to me over the last several weeks is just how hard it can be to control your mindset.  As James Allen has said in “As A Man Thinketh”, if you don’t put good things into the garden of your mind, weeds will grow.weed

The “weed seeds” that grow are negative thoughts that invade the garden of your mind.  How they get there is a mystery to me.  Maybe it’s conditioning, maybe it’s part of the “race” mind that we are all connected to.

What I do know is that if I don’t put positive, motivating and encouraging thoughts into my mind everyday, negative thinking invades.  The “I can’t’s” family moves in, sets up shop and it gets ugly in there.

Give Your Positive Thoughts Life

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  John 1:1

As many times as I’ve read this, it still stuns me the power that this one sentence has.  Your word can change your life.

Many religions throughout the world use prayer.  Some use mantra’s, the repetition of words in rapid succession.  What they do is give life to your positive thoughts and cause them to be the new “seeds” of thought in the mind of the speaker.

These are ancient techniques that endure today because they work!

One of my mantra’s is “I believe, I know, I have faith that I will achieve…..(my goal)”.  I say it over and over to myself.  ThLavenderFlowerse power I get from this is amazing.  I’m more motivated into action, I get more done and I’m happier doing it.

Nothing seems like it’s too tough to tackle.  I feel invincible.  I don’t sweat the small stuff.

I used to think, when I was much younger, that you had to be a sap to believe this. All that was negative thinking, weeds growing in the absence of the good that was ever present all around me.

I know now that if I start my day off this way, life is much easier and a heck of a lot more fun.

When you cultivate positive thoughts, good things grow in your mind.  When good things grow in your mind good things can’t help but grow around you.

That’s how it works.  Whatever “it” is!

Starting Your Day Off With A Positive Mindset

I’ve learned that if I start my day off in “the certain way” everything else follows suit.  Here’s my plan:

1)  Get up a little earlier than usual.  I like 530am as it’s quiet and beautiful outside.

2)  Get a little exercise.  Go for a 30 minute walk.  On your walk, take your iPod and listen to an encouraging recording.  I have one that’s called “NRG”.  It’s about a 45 minute collection of highly motivating words set to encouraging and positive music.  It pumps me up.

3)  When I get back, I do a little additional exercising then head to “the chair”.   There I take it down and imagine my day successful.  I see myself and I want to be but I am that now.

Then I start my day.  Also you could read something inspirational.  Whatever floats your boat is fine but just get good stuff in there, rinse and repeat.

It also helps to take a few minutes in the evening, flush out all the days emotion so it’s not carried over into your rest.  Let go of everything that happened and everything you felt that day.  You’ll sleep better and the better rest also helps keep the wolves at bay.

Above all else, keep those darn weeds from growing and accomplishing your goals will come a lot easier!
